Garden State Woman LLC was launched in 1998 as a multi-media company to provide information and resources to thriving corporate, professional and business owner women. The information-packed magazine, along with seminars, conferences and networking opportunities quickly garnered acceptance as a trusted information resource.
In 2005 the Garden State Woman Education Foundation (GSWEF) was created to educate young women about a business education and career. Collaborating with Rutgers Newark Business School over a five-year period, approximately 1000 high school girls attended these programs. Women Executives and business owners volunteered to share their experiences.
At the same time, GSWEF began offering scholarship opportunities to inner city girls attending a New Jersey college or university. Among the universities that scholars attended were Rutgers Newark & New Brunswick, William Paterson, and Seton Hall.
GSWEF is organized as 501c3 and has a volunteer Board of Directors. Daily decisions are made by the Founder and CEO, Judy Chapman – [email protected].
With the sudden passing of her husband of 60+ years, Jack Killion, who encouraged and empowered her to create Garden State Woman, a scholarship has been created – Jack Killion Entrepreneurial Scholarship.
Garden State Woman is proud to be recognized by NJBIZ as one of the top organizations committed to supporting and elevating women in the workplace and community.
